Looking Back

Decided to take advantage of the quieter roads and drive around the old hospital sites. There are of course much changed with Hither Green now a large housing estate. I was surprised at the narrow lane, which led to the site of Syndenham Children’s Hospital. It is now two large stucco houses, which are now private homes.

Grove Park seems quite run down. A large building with broken windows seems to be home to some families. There was a young boy shouting from the window for me to get off his land – it was like something out of Dickens. The site is also houses a GP Surgery and neighbours a rather fancy health club.

Looking for Gale

I wondered round trying to locate all the boxes on the following Monday. I thought I would kill two birds with one stone and use the opportunity to catch up with Gale on one of his night visits. Sadly he did not come and by 10pm I was fit to drop having started my day at 6am....

....so I went home. But at least i got round all the boxes!

Future Plans

While I spent the 17th December not Christmas shopping but making the new labels, The next day I felt I really ought to put them in the boxes before the insanity of the season really took hold...

Of course I didn't and Ben [the project coordinator came to visit me in the studio so we could think about final works. I am still keen on Matron Bell and staff who trained and worked under her watch. For some reason I have also become very interested in the uniform. I suppose it is because the hold a secret code of some sort...

New Year New Labels!

Lots to catch up with since the end of the year as I made lots of visits to the hospital over the holidays. The hospital was very quiet so i took advantage of this to catch with various people around the site.

I had fallen behind with the boxes so I spent a few days in the studios making new things and organising the labels for the inside. Took ages and ages to line things up as quite a fiddly job. At last there are new labels for the boxes!
